Kittens will go home at 12 weeks of age. They will have 1 to 3 vaccinations, deworming and will be litter box trained. They will be socialized with cats as well as large dogs and familiar with regular household activities as they're raised in our home. Kittens will be examined by our veterinarian and cleared for any general health issues before going home. They will be microchipped with pre paid lifetime registration through AKC Reunite, have their TICA registration application (breeder slip), health guarantee agreement contract as well as some of their current food and toys.

If you would be interested in a kitten from us, here is where you start.

Send us a short bio, including the following information;

• You and your family
• Home and where you plan to allow your kitten
• Current pets
• Schedule
• Experience, related to Maine Coons and or cats in general 
• Vet references 
• and any anything else you feel would be helpful with us getting to know you and where our kitten would potentially be raised
• Feel free to include if you are active/retired military/veteran or first Responders. We do offer a discount to show our gratitude ❤️😊 This discount is extended to the person who served and proper identification is required. 

If we feel like you would be a good fit, we would then proceed to payment for deposit $500, payable via Zelle or Venmo or bank wire transfer for those located outside of the United States. 

We also accept some major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover) using Square with a 3.5% convenience fee, bringing the total to $517.50. This will secure your place in line for your new family member. **Although square does offer AMERICAN EXPRESS as a payment option,  we do not choose to accept this particular credit card for payment ** American express payments will be refunded, minus the convenience fee. Credit card payments are limited to use for deposit only and have a deadline of 6 weeks prior to my set go home date.

The total cost is for your pet Maine Coon kitten will be $2,700.00. 

We offer a discount to military and first responders to show our gratitude. You must be the purchaser and show official, valid credentials to receive this discount. 

We also offer a Loyalty discount to our Alumni to show gratitude for your continued support. 

Discounts will not be stacked. You would receive one or the other. 

I have choosen to keep the cost competitive. A Maine Coon is definitely a LUXURY. But I would like to help make them more attainable for those who have dreamed of having their very own Maine Coon Baby! 🫶

Any other discount given, will come at the cost of our health guarantee. To clarify, a discount given outside of our Alumni or first responder/military discount will nullify the health guarantee that would have covered them until 1 year of age. If you do not pay the full cost, we can not justify coverage. The guarantee is akin to insurance. We would "replace" with another kitten, when available. It is NOT a promise that no health concern will arise. But we do our best to limit the chances of serious health issues by conducting DNA and health testing, routine vet visits, vaccinations, premium food and supplements, as well as keeping a close watch on bio security, cleanliness, constant and routine sanitizing as well as making sure our cats have a happy, enriched, loving and low stress home environment. We are set up to care for critical medical needs for neonates to adults and seniors with an incubator, nebulizer, oxygen, wound care, lactated ringers, medicines and an abundant supply of preventative care products in the instance we need to take action to help maintain our kiddos health outside of our veterinarians care. Keeping our babies happy, healthy and wanting for nothing is 24/7/365 and COSTLY! They are 100% worth it! 

Breeding rights would be an additional cost and granted on a case by case basis. We would need to know you have the best intentions and would be keeping the integrity of the breed in mind. Being a steward for our breed is something we take very seriously and we would expect the same of you. 

Desert Sky Maine Coons reserves the right to cancel a sale at any point for any reason. The deposit may not be refunded or refunded in part or full at the discretion of Desert Sky Maine Coons. 

When we get close to having a litter that might produce a kitten for you, we will be in contact to let you know. This will give you approximately 3 months, to prepare for bringing home your new kiddo. You are welcome to pass on a litter if you are not quite ready or you prefer a different breeding. 

UPDATES 

No INDIVIDUAL updates will be given for public breedings.

We will generally give weekly updates via social media. Some updates may be spread out further or closer together. We are raising kittens and have a whole crew to take care of physically and emotionally. That in itself is a full time job. Just to give you an idea of what else we have going on... we have pigs, rabbits, chickens, Bullmastiffs, DSH cats and our magnificent MAINE COONS! 🥰 Sending individual updates is extremely time consuming and will not be integrated into our schedule. Instead, I take the time to sit with, play and get pictures/video with the babies at one time. I will then post them to our social media for all to see. Taking this into consideration, I will do my best to be regular with updates but our kittens, mommas and whole crew come first! 

On occasion, we will have a "private breeding". This is a breeding that is not advertised. In the instance we have an available kitten/s from a private breeding, I will contact our list and those individuals will be given individual updates.

Placement for each kitten will be determined between 6 to 10 weeks of age. We will provide photos, video, temperament and personality assessments at that time to help with choosing the right kitten for your family. 

You will meet your kitten in person on pick up day at around 12 weeks of age. Please keep in mind that you will need to use your deposit no later than 24 months after it has been sent to us. After the 24 months have passed, the deposit will be forfeited.

You are welcome to reach out for updates or if you have any questions, whenever you like. We like to remain on the same page so please do not hesitate to ask for clarification if something does not make sense or you'd like more detailed information. 

Your new baby will be ready to come home at 12 weeks old. They will have had 1-3 vaccinations, been dewormed and examined by our veterinarian. You will be required to have your kitten examined by your veterinarian within 3 business days to make sure we are on the same page in regards to their health. At that time your vet should set up your vaccination schedule for any remaining vaccinations as well as rabies which should be completed at 6 months of age. For the safety of your kitten, they should be kept in a carrier or held during vet visits (NOT allowed to freely roam the room) to avoid being exposed to viruses and diseases. Vaccinations are not a 100% guarantee of protection. Especially while younger, we should give them the best chance to develop their immune system by keeping them safe.

I HIGHLY recommend obtaining health insurance for your new baby. Most policies will cover routine vet care. Some cover spay/neuter procedure. It's very important to inquire about emergency care coverage. Accidents happen and can be VERY COSTLY! We want you to make sure you are prepared. As we all know, baby animals are very curious and at times can get themselves into precarious situations. It's better to be safe than sorry! I do not recommend any particular insurance. You will need to research and choose the best option for you and your budget.

I encourage you to bring a carrier for the ride home. Though they will have been introduce to car rides, they will be in a new car with new smells and new people which may be a bit scary and overwhelming for them.

You will receive a bag with your kitten's things. This includes their health guarantee agreement, TICA registration form, microchip registration info, health record, toys and a small amount of their current food.

For kittens being transported electronic payment is required.  We will not transport a kitten anywhere without prior payment.
